The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, arrived today in Dhusamareb, the capital of Galmudug, to assess the drought situation in Galmudug areas and coordinate the ongoing humanitarian relief efforts there.

The Commissioner of SoDMA was welcomed in Dhusamareb by officials from Galmudug, including the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Galmudug, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Diriye (Makaawi), and the Galmudug Drought Committee.

Commissioner Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle’s visit is related to evaluating the drought conditions and strengthening emergency response efforts. During his stay in Dhusamareb, he will hold meetings with Galmudug leaders and humanitarian agencies working on relief issues in order to accelerate support for the people affected by the drought.
