The National Drought Management Coordination Committee (NDMCC) meeting was concluded in Mogadishu. The meeting was organized by the Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA). It focused on strengthening coordination of the drought response, analyzing the humanitarian situation, and reinforcing cooperation among government institutions.
The meeting, which is held quarterly, is part of ongoing efforts to improve data-sharing systems, assess drought conditions, and guide national actions to address the impacts of drought.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Federal Government, the Federal Member States, and the Banadir Regional Administration, who jointly reviewed food security conditions, existing needs, and the challenges faced.
Finally, the committee agreed to convene a broader national meeting in February of this year.
