The Acting Director General of the Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management of the North Eastern State of Somalia, Mr. Mohamed Abdiqadir Mahmoud (Ducaale Darwiish), presented the status of the drought affecting the regions under the North Eastern Somalia administration during the National Drought Management Coordination Committee (NDMCC) meeting.

Mr. Mohamed Abdiqadir stated that the drought has now reached a critical stage, severely affecting the lives of people and livestock. He emphasized the importance of an urgent response, strengthening national coordination, and ensuring close cooperation between government institutions and humanitarian partners.
