The Federal Minister of Defense, H.E. Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, emphasized the urgent need for research-driven approaches to disaster prevention and response during the 2nd National Conference on Disaster Resilience in Somalia.
Minister Fiqi highlighted that thousands of Somalis have lost their lives to recurring natural disasters, underscoring the importance of establishing effective systems that can anticipate and mitigate future crises.
He stressed that comprehensive studies and data-informed strategies are vital to building long-term national resilience and protecting communities from the devastating impacts of droughts, floods, and other emergencies.
