Mogadishu, Somalia — The Deputy Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Dr. Ahmed Abdi Adan, welcomed a delegation from the Somali Humanitarian Magazine (SHM), led by Executive Director Abdullahi Mohamed Haji, to the agency’s headquarters yesterday, Saturday. The meeting focused on creating collaboration between the two entities, specifically in public awareness and disseminating information on the country’s humanitarian situation.

During the meeting, SHM officials briefed SoDMA leadership on the magazine’s founding objectives and its plans to raise awareness and share accurate information related to humanitarian aid and relief efforts for affected Somali people.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Abdi Adan praised the efforts of the Somali Humanitarian Magazine, highlighting the importance of having a dedicated media platform focused on humanitarian issues.

The Deputy Commissioner added that SoDMA will work closely with the magazine to unify and strengthen relief and community development initiatives.

This partnership is expected to lead to the effective and efficient dissemination of information regarding disaster situations and humanitarian aid in the country, helping the Somali public receive accurate data on the efforts of humanitarian organizations and the government.
