Mogadishu, Somalia — In a move reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening Somalia’s disaster resilience and promoting sustainable development, the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mohamud Moalim Abdulle, today, received a high-level delegation from the international organization LM International, led by its President, Ms. Josephine Sundqvist.
The meeting, held at SoDMA’s headquarters, focused on extensive discussions about the strategic tasks and ongoing projects of SoDMA. Commissioner Abdulle provided a comprehensive overview of the agency’s future plans and its efforts to build an effective response system.
For her part, Ms. Sundqvist, whose organization is based in Sweden, presented LM International’s global and regional activities, with a specific focus on its ongoing development and relief initiatives.
The meeting culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that outlines the framework for joint cooperation between the two parties. This partnership aims to strengthen collaboration and coordinate efforts in multiple areas.
This strategic partnership is expected to bring about a significant qualitative leap in Somalia’s ability to effectively handle humanitarian and environmental challenges, thereby boosting the country’s stability and resilience.
