Mogadishu, May 29, 2025 – Ms. Sadiya Yassin Haji Samatar, First Deputy Speaker of the Federal Republic of Somalia Parliament, visited the headquarters of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) today. She was warmly received by Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim and senior agency leaders.

During a special meeting, Commissioner Moallim presented a detailed report on SoDMA’s activities, focusing on the challenges posed by ongoing counter-terrorism operations and their impact on humanitarian efforts. The discussion also highlighted a recent decline in humanitarian donations and outlined SoDMA’s proactive relief initiatives across Somalia.

In a separate meeting with SoDMA’s women staff, Speaker Sadiya praised their significant contributions to the agency’s mission. She urged them to continue their impactful work, emphasizing its vital role in advancing the nation’s progress.
