The SoDMA Commissioner Mohamoud Moallim  met with Pia Weurlander, Country Program Manager of UN Women Somalia to reinforce the strong relationship between the two agencies in addressing critical disaster management issues in Somalia.

The discussion focused on improving women’s inclusion in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiatives by incorporating their perspectives into decision-making.

Creating safe spaces for women in disaster-affected communities is essential. With the anticipated La Niña-induced droughts, enhancing women’s resilience through access to resources and support is crucial.
