Today in Mogadishu, Commissioner Mohamoud Moallim Abdulle has officially inaugurated a consultation meeting to discuss the establishment of the National Disaster Management Coordination Committee with the participation of the DG of MoECC_Somalia, mr. yussuf samatar, Director Muhyadin Mahamud of the Regional Relief Department, and Deputy Chairman Abdirahman Galanbe from the Chamber of Commerce. The crucial event was also attended by representatives from regional ministries of humanitarian experts and senior officials from WFP somalia.
The meeting featured engaging conversations and presentations focused on having a collective and unified approach to humanitarian aid, emergency response, and disaster prevention strategies.
This collaborative effort facilitated by World Bank, highlighting a strong commitment to addressing humanitarian challenges in the region.
The Commissioner emphasized that disaster management requires collaboration across agencies to effectively address the impacts on people, the environment, and the economy.
