The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, concluded a consultation meeting on the condition of the Mogadishu–Baidoa road corridor.

The UNICEF-supported meeting focused on assessing the condition of the corridor and the security challenges affecting movement, particularly the delivery of humanitarian assistance. Participants also reviewed security updates and discussed data collection mechanisms to better understand existing challenges and develop procedures to facilitate safe and reliable humanitarian access.

In his closing remarks, the SoDMA Commissioner emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination among all relevant stakeholders to ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches people in need safely and consistently.
