{"id":9937,"date":"2026-08-26T17:31:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T17:31:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/?p=9937"},"modified":"2026-08-26T17:31:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T17:31:24","slug":"sodma-commissioner-engages-national-fishermens-cooperative-on-super-el-nino-preparedness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/sodma-commissioner-engages-national-fishermens-cooperative-on-super-el-nino-preparedness\/","title":{"rendered":"SoDMA Commissioner Engages National Fishermen\u2019s Cooperative on Super El Ni\u00f1o Preparedness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"95\" data-end=\"336\">The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, today received the Chairman of the National Fishermen\u2019s Cooperative, Mr. Hassan Mohamed Rooble, and officials from the cooperative at his office.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"338\" data-end=\"624\">The meeting focused on preparedness for the anticipated impacts of <strong data-start=\"405\" data-end=\"422\">Super El Ni\u00f1o<\/strong>, particularly flood risks, and the role the fishermen\u2019s cooperative can play in public awareness, training, and supporting communities and personnel involved in flood preparedness and response efforts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"626\" data-end=\"944\">The Chairman of the National Fishermen\u2019s Cooperative, Mr. Hassan Mohamed Rooble, pledged the cooperative\u2019s full participation in efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and its support for emergency response operations when disasters occur, particularly in communities located along Somalia\u2019s rivers and coastline.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"946\" data-end=\"1377\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The SoDMA Commissioner, Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, stated that the Agency has deployed boats to areas most vulnerable to flooding to support emergency response and the evacuation of affected communities.
