{"id":9658,"date":"2026-07-26T15:27:03","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T15:27:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/?p=9658"},"modified":"2026-07-26T15:32:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T15:32:38","slug":"somali-disaster-management-agency-launches-national-conference-on-super-el-nino-preparedness-and-women-led-organizations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/somali-disaster-management-agency-launches-national-conference-on-super-el-nino-preparedness-and-women-led-organizations\/","title":{"rendered":"SoDMA Launches National Consultation on Super El Ni\u00f1o Preparedness and the Engagement of Women-Led Organizations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"17\" data-end=\"263\">The Commissioner of the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Somali Disaster Management Agency<\/span><\/span> (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, today officially inaugurated a <strong data-start=\"148\" data-end=\"263\">National Consultative Conference on \u201cSuper El Ni\u00f1o Preparedness and the Engagement of Women-Led Organizations.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"265\" data-end=\"520\">The conference focused on strengthening Somalia\u2019s preparedness for the risks associated with <strong data-start=\"358\" data-end=\"375\">Super El Ni\u00f1o<\/strong> rainfall, with particular emphasis on the critical role of women-led organizations in disaster prevention, preparedness, and emergency response.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"522\" data-end=\"790\">The event brought together Directors General from the Ministries of Interior, Finance, and Environment, officials from the Ministry of Women and Human Rights Development, Somali religious leaders, and representatives of women-led organizations from across the country.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"792\" data-end=\"1117\">In his opening remarks, Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle emphasized that collaboration between the government, women-led organizations, and local communities is essential for building resilience to the impacts of climate change.
