{"id":9283,"date":"2026-06-27T12:12:47","date_gmt":"2026-06-27T12:12:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/?p=9283"},"modified":"2026-06-27T12:12:47","modified_gmt":"2026-06-27T12:12:47","slug":"somali-disaster-management-agency-sends-disaster-response-officers-to-china-for-flood-preparedness-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/somali-disaster-management-agency-sends-disaster-response-officers-to-china-for-flood-preparedness-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Somali Disaster Management Agency Sends Disaster Response Officers to China for Flood Preparedness Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"17\" data-end=\"589\"><strong data-start=\"17\" data-end=\"46\">Mogadishu, June 27, 2026:<\/strong> The Commissioner of the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Somali Disaster Management Agency<\/span><\/span> (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, accompanied by several Ministers of Humanitarian Affairs from the Federal Member States, today held a farewell ceremony in <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Mogadishu<\/span><\/span> for 25 officers from <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Somali Disaster Management Agency<\/span><\/span> and the Humanitarian Affairs Ministries of the Federal Member States. The officers will travel to the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">China<\/span><\/span> to undertake specialized training on flood preparedness, prevention, and response.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"851\">The officers are being deployed for the training as Somalia prepares for the forecasted Deyr rainy season associated with the anticipated <strong data-start=\"729\" data-end=\"746\">Super El Ni\u00f1o<\/strong> phenomenon, which is expected to increase the risk of flooding and flash floods in parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"853\" data-end=\"1275\">In his remarks, Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle urged the officers to demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and patriotism throughout the training.
