{"id":8897,"date":"2026-04-01T16:04:27","date_gmt":"2026-04-01T16:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/?p=8897"},"modified":"2026-04-01T16:04:27","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T16:04:27","slug":"sodma-commissioner-visits-banadir-hospital-to-assess-drought-and-malnutrition-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/sodma-commissioner-visits-banadir-hospital-to-assess-drought-and-malnutrition-crisis\/","title":{"rendered":"SoDMA Commissioner Visits Banadir Hospital to Assess Drought and Malnutrition Crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"55\" data-end=\"286\">The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, today visited Banadir Mother and Child Hospital in Mogadishu to assess the situation caused by drought and malnutrition in the country.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"709\">The Commissioner received a briefing from the hospital\u2019s Director, Mr. Abdirisaaq Sharif Ali, who spoke about the pressure on health services and the worsening malnutrition situation. He noted that most of the patients have been affected following the closure of nearly 700 health centers across the country that had previously provided maternal and child health services, due to a decline in international donor support.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"978\">During the visit, the Commissioner personally witnessed growing cases of malnutrition and increasing medical needs.
