{"id":8694,"date":"2026-03-10T10:54:17","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T10:54:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/?p=8694"},"modified":"2026-03-10T11:03:46","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T11:03:46","slug":"sodma-commissioner-highlights-the-importance-of-somalias-new-national-disaster-management-policy-after-uk-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/sodma-commissioner-highlights-the-importance-of-somalias-new-national-disaster-management-policy-after-uk-visit\/","title":{"rendered":"The Commissioner of SoDMA following his recent visit to the United Kingdom, highlighted the importance of the new National Disaster Management Policy."},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"233\" data-end=\"497\">The Commissioner of the National Disaster Management Agency, <strong data-start=\"294\" data-end=\"325\">Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle<\/strong>, stated that Somalia has moved beyond the stage of discussions and planning and has now entered a phase of building <strong data-start=\"442\" data-end=\"496\">formal and effective systems for disaster response<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"695\">He noted that Somalia continuously faces <strong data-start=\"540\" data-end=\"598\">droughts, conflicts, and the impacts of climate change<\/strong>, and therefore the losses resulting from delayed disaster response should not be underestimated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"697\" data-end=\"1113\">Commissioner Mahmoud Moallim emphasized that the <strong data-start=\"746\" data-end=\"789\">new National Disaster Management Policy<\/strong> recognizes the <strong data-start=\"805\" data-end=\"857\">Shock-Responsive Social Protection (SRSP) system<\/strong> as a critical component of the national disaster response framework.
