The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallin Abdulle, participated in a national consultative meeting organized by the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, which focused on strengthening drought preparedness and response across the country.<\/p>\n

The meeting brought together key productive-sector ministries and the Office of the Prime Minister. Participants were presented with the latest updates on the food security situation, along with an in-depth analysis of how the drought is affecting people\u2019s livelihoods and livestock.<\/p>\n

The meeting also reviewed SoDMA\u2019s Emergency and Short-Term Response Plan, as well as the Food Security Contingency Preparedness Plan (FSCPP), both of which are critical for strengthening community resilience\u2014especially among vulnerable households.<\/p>\n

In closing, the SoDMA Commissioner noted that the country is facing severe drought conditions and called for collective action to protect lives and livestock, and to accelerate coordinated response and preparedness efforts.<\/p>\n
