{"id":7991,"date":"2026-01-12T11:14:44","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T11:14:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/?p=7991"},"modified":"2026-01-12T11:14:44","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T11:14:44","slug":"sodma-commissioner-arrives-in-kismayo-for-drought-assessment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/sodma-commissioner-arrives-in-kismayo-for-drought-assessment\/","title":{"rendered":"SoDMA Commissioner Arrives in Kismayo for Drought Assessment."},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"160\" data-end=\"426\">The <strong data-start=\"164\" data-end=\"233\">Commissioner of the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Somali Disaster Management Agency<\/span><\/span> (SoDMA)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"235\" data-end=\"280\">Mr. <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Mohamud Macalin Abdulle<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, and the delegation he leads have arrived in <strong data-start=\"326\" data-end=\"367\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Kismayo<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, the capital of <strong data-start=\"384\" data-end=\"425\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Jubbaland<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"428\" data-end=\"648\">The delegation was received by the Jubbaland Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and the Chairperson of the Jubbaland Drought Committee, <strong data-start=\"562\" data-end=\"603\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Abdirahman Mohamed Mohamud<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, along with other senior regional officials.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"650\" data-end=\"910\">During the visit, the SoDMA delegation will conduct field assessments in several drought-affected areas across Jubbaland to evaluate the severity and impacts of the ongoing drought and to provide technical guidance for strengthening emergency response efforts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"1238\">The Commissioner\u2019s visit is accompanied by <strong data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"996\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">George Conway<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, Deputy Head of United Nations Humanitarian Affairs in Somalia.
