the urgent need for evidence-based and sustainable strategies to strengthen Somalia\u2019s resilience against disasters during his remarks at the 2nd Somalia Disaster Resilience Conference.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Hassan noted that the conference comes at a critical time when both the Somali people and the government are grappling with the severe impacts of droughts, floods, and climate change, which continue to threaten livelihoods across the country.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted the importance of grounding all disaster resilience efforts in scientific research and data-driven planning, stressing that such an approach is essential to developing effective systems capable of reducing humanitarian risks and improving recovery capacity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe time is now to build durable and practical solutions that empower Somali communities to withstand and adapt to the challenges posed by recurrent disasters,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n<p>The conference, jointly organized by the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) and Mogadishu University, serves as a key platform for experts, policymakers, and partners to collaborate on strengthening national
