The meeting was attended by the State Minister of the Hirshabelle Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, the Commissioner listened to representatives of the women\u2019s and youth organizations provide updates on the humanitarian situation and needs in Hiiraan Region, with the aim of obtaining reliable information on community needs and the challenges facing the region.<\/p>\n<p>The SoDMA Commissioner, Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, also shared information with the community representatives and participating organizations regarding the <strong>Super El Ni\u00f1o forecast<\/strong>, the period during which its impacts are expected, and the government\u2019s preparedness plans and measures to mitigate the potential risks.<\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, the Commissioner called on community organizations in Hiiraan Region to play an active role in raising public awareness, strengthening preparedness and supporting emergency response when disasters occur.
