{"id":10056,"date":"2026-09-05T19:58:33","date_gmt":"2026-09-05T19:58:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/?p=10056"},"modified":"2026-09-08T20:09:05","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T20:09:05","slug":"sodma-commissioner-arrives-in-beledweyne-to-accelerate-flood-preparedness-and-response-efforts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sodma.gov.so\/eng\/sodma-commissioner-arrives-in-beledweyne-to-accelerate-flood-preparedness-and-response-efforts\/","title":{"rendered":"SoDMA Commissioner Arrives in Beledweyne to Accelerate Flood Preparedness and Response Efforts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle, accompanied by the State Minister of the Hirshabelle Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, today arrived in Beledweyne, Hiiraan Region, to accelerate humanitarian response efforts and preparedness for the risks of flooding.<\/p>\n<p>The SoDMA Commissioner and his delegation were welcomed in the city by officials from the Hirshabelle State administration and representatives of various sectors of the community.<\/p>\n<p>The visit is part of the Federal Government of Somalia\u2019s efforts to strengthen preparedness and prevent the potential impacts of flooding and the anticipated effects of <strong>El Ni\u00f1o<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During his stay in Beledweyne, the Commissioner will hold meetings with Hirshabelle State officials at both the district and regional levels, as well as with representatives of the local community. He will also visit areas located near waterways to assess the situation and strengthen public awareness.<\/p>\n<p>SoDMA Commissioner Mr. Mahmoud Moallim Abdulle called on communities to <strong>clear and clean waterways<\/strong> to facilitate the flow of water and help prevent flooding and the potential losses it may cause.
