UN Official Warns of Growing Humanitarian Needs at 9th Country Humanitarian Forum
The Deputy Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General and UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia, Mr. George Conway, delivered a keynote address at the 9th Country Humanitarian Forum (CHF) held in Jowhar.
Mr. Conway highlighted the escalating humanitarian needs across Somalia, while available support continues to decline. He stressed that aid agencies are being forced to make difficult choices, prioritizing services for those most in need.
He also noted that the 2025 Humanitarian Response Plan has so far received only 23% of its required funding, posing a major challenge to the delivery of essential services.
